Time Flies

All of the sudden, my little baby now has his two front teeth, crawls everywhere, pulls up on everything, and can summit our stair case in about 2 seconds flat.  I swear it was just yesterday that he was born...

And all is right in the world...

Sometimes all you need to turn a day around is a 3 hour tandem nap (which never happens, but it did today!), a glass of wine with lunch, and an impromptu afternoon play date with the BFFs.

Mommy Juice

You know, most days I love being a stay at home mom.  Sure, it has its challenges, ups and downs and what have yous.  But mostly, the kids and I have a great time and I love doing this. 

Today is not one of those days.  We have had no fewer than 25 meltdowns over things such as:  wanting to put a set of AA batteries that she found in her mouth, wanting to eat a quarter that she found, wanting her 36th marshmallow of the day (half kidding), and wanting to push and shove her little brother around the room.  Two of my skylights are leaking, I am covered in snot and oatmeal, and I swear if I hear "I want mallow" one more time I'm going to check myself into a loony bin!

Let's just say, it's 11:35 and I'm saying a prayer to the baby monitor that its little light stays in the green for at least the next two hours.  Oh, and I am already having a glass of wine.

Get up, Stand up

And, so, it begins.  Jameson, at 7.5 months, decided he'd had enough of this stationary thing.  He went from sitting right next to me (or if you know Jame, more likely being held by me) to suddenly crawling around the living room and - suprise! - pulling himself up to standing on the coffee table.  I checked Hadley's baby book and this is officially 3 weeks earlier than Hadley did this.  Oh, dear.

No More Monkeys...

For Christmas we got Jameson a fun decal for his bedroom, as it needed a little sprucing up.  The owl came for free (below) and was relatively easy to stick to the wall.  The monkeys however, were far more involved and took Andy and I 3 hours to get up there!  Finished product below...

Tattletale

On Wednesday I got home from work and was greeted by two very happy little kiddos (finally, after being so sick it was so nice to see them smiling!).  They are getting along famously with Grandma Allison and it really couldn't have been an easier transition to this whole full time working thing. 

Wedsnesday is Hadley's toddler class which just started back up after winter break.  The other moms and I all concur that toddler class is easily the most stressful 3 hours any parent will ever spend at a playgroup.  It is pandamonium watching 15 1 year olds tear around (there is paint, playdough, all kinds of super duper messy things that get absolutely everywhere...it's heaven on earth for the kids).  But the interactions between 15 one year olds can get pretty intense sometimes.  They seem to battle over everything.  It makes me wonder why toddler class doesn't include cocktail hour! 

Hadley (and her BFF's Junie & Sofia) is the oldest in the class.  So we tend to have more, let's call them "behavioral issues" than the rest of the kids who are closer to 1 and still perfect little angels.  The more time we spend there, though, the better she gets and the last few weeks we've seen some real improvements. 

Wednesday I got home from work to my daughter who somehow went from speaking in cute little 2 word sentences, to being a full blown conversationalist.  It went like this:

Me:  "Hadley, how was your class today?"
Hadley: "YAY!"
Me: "What'd you do?"
Hadley: "Play, Sofia, Junie, play, cars, yay"
Me: "You played cars with Sofia & Junie?"
Hadley: "Yeah. Hadley hit Sofia. Ouch! Sorry!"

So informative, that one. At least she tells on herself and not everyone else yet!

{repost} The Peanut & The Moose

I freaking love this picture <3

I'm reposting this for two reasons.  First, both kids are dreadfully sick (but on the mend) so we took a family trip to the good old pediatrician a couple days back.  She was the on call Dr. so we'd never met her, and upon seeing the kids she said, "Well she's just a little peanut and he's a big ole moose!"  So true.  Jameson checked in at 18 lbs 12 oz while Hadley was 21 lbs 3 oz....Look out big sis, he's comin' for ya!

Second reason, I start work full time tomorrow.  And I'm really really really going to miss these two.  Really.
