Wine Tasting

I wish I had gotten a better picture of this...this week my girlfriends Julie & Jania (plus Bennett 19 months & Charli 13 months) bravely journeyed to Walla Walla with two kids under two. What else was there to do, but take their 2 under 2 plus my 2 under 2 wine tasting :) We had a blast having the girls and their kids here. It was certainly a bit chaotic with 3 1 yr olds learning the ropes of sharing toys / food / sippy cups but we survived, and had a lot of fun doing it. My wonderful husband took one for the team and hunkered down with 3 baby monitors one evening so the girls and I could sneak away for a delicious meal at T. Maccarones (with a lot of wine) and after dinner drinks at The Green Lantern. He's the best isn't he? Thank you ladies for visiting, we had a great time and definitely think this needs to be a quarterly event!

8 Week Weigh-In

Today I weighed 12 pounds 3 ounces (62%), was 23'' tall (55%) and turns out I have a big noggin like sister: 16.5'' (91%)!

Shoes

I guess a little blog neglect is inevitable when summer gets in full swing. So many hours of daylight, so much time spent outside at the park, in the yard and on the deck when the kiddos are finally in bed...Anyhow, we are doing great! Getting settled in and eagerly awaiting our first official visitors since the big move - Mom & Lor are driving their motorcycles to WW to see their grandkids!

Cousins

One of the best things about moving to WW has been having cousins in town. This past weekend Lea and the boys were here so there were 8 of them in total hanging out all weekend at the pool. I didn't grow up with any cousins nearby (or siblings for that matter) so I think it's especially awesome for H&C to grow up with all these cousins around!

6 weeks. 6 weeks?!

Time flies when you're having fun. Or I guess, time flies when you're chasing after a busy toddler and nursing a newborn every 3 hours around the clock! I survived my first week at home alone with the two kiddos, and I must say I had fun doing it. I was terrified to be left alone, there was so much build up to "2 under 2" that I seriously didn't think I was going to survive. Seriously people, you have no idea how scared this mama was. The entire time I was pregnant strangers were coming up to me left and right just speechless about the fact that I was "already pregnant". I got so many "wow you're going to have your hands full" that I thought I would deck the next person that came up to me and said that! (Blame the pregnancy hormones). And you know what, it wasn't that bad -- in fact it wasn't at all bad!  It was a big week for us, we got our new routine established and explored Walla Walla to the fullest this week. We hit every park in a 5 mile radius, Hadley learned to go up the big toy and go down the slide all by herself, and by Friday we'd even made a couple of new friends. I think I'm kind of like a mini celebrity in town (a mini celebrity because of my not-so-mini stroller). Let's just say every person I pass in town says "wow that's quite a rig you've got there" or "do you have that thing licensed?" People here are great, I am loving small town USA life! 

In the mean time, Coen continues to be an angel. He does eat quite frequently, but he goes back to sleep instantly at night and has the sweetest disposition. Though I have to say, he is also quite a momma's boy :) I can already tell he's going to be about a thousand times more cuddly than Hadley. And, the best part, he smiled at me for the first time the other day! It's the little things that make this all so worth it.

We're just gearing up for a quiet 4th of July here at Pioneer Park and a visit from our newest Walla Walla neighbor...Mr. Guy Gingell. Yes, that's right, Grampa couldn't stay away for long! On their way out of town Guy & Allison bought a house about 5 blocks down from us. They're planning on spending some more time here in town and renting it out as a vacation rental while they're in Seattle. We are so excited for them! More on the house later, the inspection goes down this Wednesday so cross your fingers for a good one.

Breaking News

It's not really news when Andy and I hit happy hour at the brew pub after work...BUT, it IS news when Andy and I hit happy hour at the brew put after work with two kids!

Just two blocks from our house is this fabulous little establishment called the Mill Creek Brew Pub. Not only do they have a big patio, freshly brewed beer and decent food - but kids are allowed to run around like little chickens with their heads cut off.  And, there's all you can eat free popcorn. Hadley liked it so much she was eating her dropped kernels off the ground.

Every day come 5pm - you know where to find us!
